Killer Mike's Monster Album Anniversary
In 2003, Killer Mike released his debut studio album, Monster, while being managed by Dayo Adebiyi and Al Thrash of Own Music. The album's lead single was "Akshon (Yeah!)", which featured Outkast on guest vocals. A remix of "Akshon (Yeah!)" was included on the soundtrack of EA Sports' video game Madden NFL 2004. The album's second single was "A.D.I.D.A.S.", featuring Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, which peaked at number 60 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It is Killer Mike's highest-charting single to date as a lead artist.

In keeping with the New-Age vibe, Benjamin and Patton formed their own boutique label, which they named "Aquemini." The word was made up from a combination of their respective astrological signs, Gemini and Aquarius. They also used it for the title of their third LP. Aquemini reached the double-platinum sales mark.
Master P’s Ghetto D Album Anniversary
Master P’s album Ghetto D was released on September 2, 1997. Originally slated to be titled as Ghetto Dope, the name was shortened to the current title before the release due to the drug reference in the aforementioned title. The album would be one of Master P's biggest albums. The original album cover, which depicted a crack addict sitting on a curb and smoking from a glass pipe, was recalled from store shelves. It was promptly replaced by the collage style cover. The album debuted at #137 on the Billboard 200. In Its second week the album then moved to #1 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums selling 260,000 copies in its second week. It was mainly on the strength of the two singles released; "I Miss My Homies" (US #25), "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" (US #22) became hit singles in the years 1997 and 1998. Read more about Master P here.
