Hip-hop fans: you’ll want to be at Austin Music Hall (208 Nueces St) on Friday night of SXSW Music.
Mass Appeal and Grooveshark have a jam-packed lineup in-store. Not only do we have Cali Smoov, B.o.B with a live band, and the entire A$AP Mob on tap, luminary DJ Flying Lotus will also be taking the stage and hip-hop legend Nas will be closing out the show.
Nas, aka Nasir Jones, is a veteran of the New York hip-hop scene. The MC dropped his debut LP, Illmatic, in 1994 and it has since become a classic album beyond its years. His most recent album was 2012’s Life Is Good and it’s been reported that Nas is working on a new LP with DJ Premier.
Flying Lotus is an LA-based producer and DJ who sometimes raps under the alias Captain Murphy. His most recent album as Flying Lotus was Until the Quiet Comes, released in 2012; he is set to release two albums this year.
The A$AP Mob is quickly rising as one of the most popular and talented hip hop collectives out there today. Led by rapper A$AP Rocky, the entire crew will be taking stage at Austin Music Hall on Friday, March 14.
