The last thing the world needs is another hip hop blog/web site. That would be a waste of my very limited resources and time. But wouldn't it be great to go online and access the history & evolution of hip hop's music & culture? Better yet, in an interactive, digital medium??
That's what I thought several months ago after reading an NPR article about the origins of hip hop. I just KNEW it existed somewhere online. Guess what? To my disappointment, it did not...until now! I was inspired to launch Hip Hop Scriptures and begin tackling this (Kool) Herculean feat. Right now, I am focusing on completing digital bios of hip hop artists from the 70's, 80's and 90's (with a few surprise guests from the 2000's and 2010's).
I am still a one woman show at the moment. My vision for the web site includes digital exhibits for Graffiti, Turntablism, B-Boys, Hype Men, a comprehensive producers database and much more! But I need technical expertise to ensure the best experience possible, and some help!
Please check out the site and let me know what you think. If you're inspired please join the movement to preserve the Hip Hop culture by contributing to the active Indiegogo campaign before December 11th when the clock runs out!
Sincerely,
Sophia Lewis
