Japan born, Michigan raised, rapper Ollie Joseph and Amsterdam (NL) based producer UNRTHDX have been working on a magnificent work of art the past couple of months bringing you their result in the form of a four track EP called Moon & Back.
“Jacksonville Code” is the first of the four and tells the story of his experience through a hard time where he chose to stay with his ex so she could learn what not to do for the next person. Ollie Joseph says, "Falling in and out of love is part of what keeps life interesting. It took me writing this song to understand that". Following the release of “Jacksonville Code” was the track “Moon & Back”, which dropped on October 16th. The track features a softer beat from UNRTHDX while maintaining Ollie Joseph’s cutting lyrics. The duo continued with the release of the third track off the EP, “End Of The Day”, on October 30th. Ollie Joseph describes the song by saying, “I’ve had a full-time job for the entirety of my music pursuit. I got fired from one of them for ‘taking music too seriously’ and wrote this song the day after. “End of The Day” is self explanatory. I move knowing that nothing is permanent and change is inevitable. At the end of the day, nothing matters because I’m going to continue on my path and everyone else is going to do whatever they want to do. I’ve faced too many forms of rejection to let it get to me anymore. I wanted to pack that emotion into a song that others could turn to when they felt the same way. You have to keep doing you regardless of who or what tries to derail you.” The final track on their EP, “Sick 2 My Stomach”, drops November 13th.
