Released May 18th, 1993, Jazzmatazz Volume 1 is the debut solo studio album by hip hop recording artist Guru. The album combines a live jazz band performance with hip hop production and features from singers, rappers and musicians. The album made it to number 94 on the Billboard 200 and number 15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States, however the album was placed on higher charts due to jazz being a lot more popular in Europe at the time.
