Run-D.M.C. gave rap both its first gold album (Run-D.M.C., 1984) and its first platinum album (King of Rock, 1985). They also took rap into the Top Ten when they collaborated with Aerosmith on a rap remake of that group’s “Walk This Way.” After that single and video conquered radio and MTV, the racial and stylistic barriers between rock and rap were never again quite so pronounced.
The Game's The Documentary Album Anniversary
His first major album "The Documentary" was released on January 18, 2005. Featuring the likes of Eminem, Faith Evans, Busta Rhymes, and Mary J. Blige, the record really did not find any difficulty to instantly soar as the new phenomenon in the hip-hop scene as it amazingly sold over 586,000 units in its first week to secure the top spot of The Billboard 200. In the meantime, two out of its eighteen tracks namely "Dreams" and "Hate It or Leave It" gloriously became massive hits with the latter peaking at number two on The Billboard Hot 100, all unmistakably leading The Game to widespread popularity in consequence. By the end of the year, sales on the LP had already reached 2.2 million copies which thus urged the RIAA to bestow double Platinum status on the album and so automatically made the rapper's star shine brighter for sure.

Keith Murray's It's A Beautiful Thing Album Anniversary
The recording of the album began during the difficult times of Murray's legal and financial troubles, along with his desire to leave the label. However, the album was unfinished when Murray went into incarceration, with the label deciding to complete and release the album despite Murray's disapproval. It was released on January 12, 1999 via Jive Records, making it his final record for the label. This is Murray’s third solo studio album. It features guest appearances from Déjà Vu, Canibus, Erick Sermon, LL Cool J, Redman and Too $hort. The album peaked at number thirty-nine on the Billboard 200 and number nine on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the US.

DMX's Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood Album Anniversary
In February 1998, DMX released his debut major-label single, "Get at Me Dog", on Def Jam Recordings. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA. His first major-label album, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot, which included the single "Ruff Ryders Anthem", was released in May 1998. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S and sold over five million copies.
Later that year in December, DMX released his second album, Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, where it remained for three consecutive weeks. Within one week of the album's release, 670,000 units were shipped. It was eventually certified Platinum four times. As a result, DMX was the second rapper in history (following Tupac Shakur) to have released two albums in the same year, which both debuted at number one on Billboard 200.

DMX's ... And Then There Was X Album Anniversary
DMX released his third and best-selling album (as of January 2012), ...And Then There Was X, on December 21, 1999. It was his third album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Its most popular single, "Party Up", became his first Top Ten hit on the R&B charts. Singles "What's My Name?" and "What These Bitches Want" were also popular. The album was certified Platinum six times.
